My Pregnancy - First 3 months

I'm just transferring some of my journal to a blog on here... I think I'll create one for each month..

I'll just start with the beginning first few months, and then as I progress I'll go to monthly.. than maybe bi-weekly and weekly etc.. towards the end!

Thanks for looking! ;)

August 22, 2008 – It was 10 DPO today, very early to check, but I thought I’d try it out and see how we did on our first month of trying for you. I just used the cheap Dollarama test, it was negative. Or so I thought. I threw the test in the garbage, then about 5 minutes later for some reason I went back into the bathroom and picked it up out of the garbage. I swear I could see the faintest line possible.

I immediately ran out to Shoppers to buy a more expensive test, came home and tested right away. Low and Behold a big fat positive!! I was pregnant! Most exciting day ever!

6 ½ weeks – I’m starting to get a bit of morning sickness, but nothing too major. I seem to be nauseous when I first wake up in the morning, and then after I eat some crackers or something I tend to feel a bit better, it’s usually gone by 10am ish... hopefully this is the pattern I’ll experience because it’s not too bad.

By now I’ve already read through 2 pregnancy books and now I’m scared on what to expect, or the potential problems that can go on I’m just willing time to go so I can make it through the first trimester safely.

I set my first midwife appointment for October 3rd at 11:15am, I’m super excited! This will likely be the first ultrasound, and I’ll hopefully be able to hear your beating heart!

September 10, 2008 – Morning sickness is starting to get worse.. still lasts for the same amount of time, but it’s so hard to get any amount of food in my belly!

Sept 21- I haven’t been able to keep any food down for very long, and finding anything worth eating was taking a toll. I went to the walk-in-clinic and got a prescription for Diclectin... boy does it ever help. I’m still a bit nauseous in the morning until I eat something, toast with peanut butter seems to be helping.. but the drugs make me drowsy so I’m even more sleepy than usual. Can’t wait for the ultrasound!

Sept 24 – I’m 9 weeks today!
